Students from kindergarten through college are invited to design the poster for the 2014 Aloha Festivals.

The theme is “Maluhia Honua—World Peace With Aloha,” which commemorates the round-the-world trip of the Polynesian canoe Hokulea and its mission to promote world peace. The design must include the words “Maluhia Honua.”

It might also be helpful to keep Auntie Irmgard in mind. Hawaiian music legend Irmgard Farden Aluli's song "For a Peaceful World" inspired this year's theme.

The grand-prize winner will receive a gift certificate for $250 at Royal Hawaiian Center. The winning poster will be displayed at Keiki Hoolaulea at Pearlridge Center.

For entry forms and templates, visit alohafestivals.com. Entries must be postmarked by May 16, 2014.
