A peek at The Good Table

Last night, supporters of Lanakila Pacific’s Meals on Wheels simultaneously had dinner at various restaurants across Oahu for the organization’s annual fundraiser, The Good Table. As mentioned previously, people bid for tables donated by restaurants online—much like Priceline—and on a designated evening, everyone goes to each venue and has dinner at the same time.

I was fortunate to get a seat at one, and since social media is a big part of this unusual virtual fundraiser, I brought some twitter friends with me. We had friends at Ola is Life at Turtle Bay who were tweeting to us from across the island, which was kind of neat—it made us feel a little like we were dining with them, and they with us.

The event doesn’t happen again until next year, but I thought I’d share a peek at the two dinners. If you want to see the full stream of photos from everyone, check out Lanakila Pacific’s photostream.

There were Good Tables all across the island last night, but ours was at Kai Market. I went with Twitter friends @Mel808, @Konaish, and @Parkrat (who took the photo).

Hope you get a table next year! Big mahalo to all the participating restaurants.
