Kilo Summit is introducing a new approach to shopping at Made in Hawai‘i Festival this year, with limited-edition collaborations between Hawai‘i brands, artists and creatives. Rather than simply showcasing individual businesses, the project is focused on bringing brands together to create exclusive pieces and experiences you won’t find elsewhere. Taking over the entire third floor of the Hawai‘i Convention Center, Kilo Summit will create an immersive experience that features shopping, art, music and local-based programming all in one space.

How to Shop Kilo Summit

An hour before the Made in Hawai‘i Festival opens to the public, shoppers can browse the marketplace and purchase items through the Kilo Summit app while waiting in line. The app uses location-based tracking and will unlock when you arrive at the Hawai‘i Convention Center. If you prefer to shop in person, that’s an option too, but note that things may sell out through the app. The goal is to change the traditional shopping experience, allowing you to browse participating brands, shop limited-edition collaborations and pick up your purchases inside the space the same day.

The items sold through Kilo Summit are made exclusively by Hawai‘i brands and creators and won’t be available online. No shipping is available; you must be at Made in Hawai‘i to shop these products.

The Mission

Beyond shopping, Kilo Summit will also feature live programming, panels and demonstrations highlighting the people and stories behind Hawai‘i’s creative community. The project aims to encourage shoppers to slow down, discover something new and build meaningful connections with the creators behind the products—for local people by local people.
