We got visitor data to see where the tourism industry stands since COVID.

We hear a lot about the perilous state of tourism in Hawai‘i, with our total visitor count not rebounding to pre-pandemic numbers. Yet, while significantly fewer tourists from Asia are coming to our Islands, the visitors who do come are spending more money here than ever before. To visualize exactly what’s happening, we retrieved data and projections from the state’s Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, comparing ​​2025 forecasts with 2019 figures.
