Party Pics: HeArt of our Keiki

The Bank of Hawaii’s main branch served as an unusual backdrop for an art display and reception last night as the bank partnered with Family Programs Hawaii to give people a glimpse into the lives of children in foster care.

Over the last several months, foster children with Family Programs Hawaii participated in workshops supported by the Honu Group, Inc. and The Contemporary Museum. Local artists and volunteers helped the children create art pieces, which in turn allowed them to express themselves more than they could with just words.

This art was on display and on sale throughout the bank lobby, presented through a reception that included entertainment by Starr Kalahiki, Kit Ebersbach, and Dean Taba; food by Heeia Pier, Prima Kailua, and Town; wines from JMD Beverages; and beer from Kona Brewing Co. Renowned local artists also donated pieces for the silent auction.
