Moms in Hawaii preview

Like Metromix Honolulu, Hawaii.momslikeme.com became part of the collateral damage when The Honolulu Advertiser was sold to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. With The Advertiser no longer in existence, the local Moms Like Me site lost its core audience and most of those who frequented the site no longer came there to chat, seek advice and socialize with other mothers online. Moms Like Me editor, Esme Infante Nii recognized that there was a void in Hawaii that needed to be filled. Like former Metromix Honolulu editor Diane Seo did when she formed Nonstop Honolulu, Esme gathered a group of passionate people to help her with her vision and the result is a new social networking site called MomsInHawaii.com.
On Thursday evening, Esme invited a group of local web designers and social media professionals to the Honolulu Academy of Arts for a preview of the new site, which is currently in closed beta, but will have open enrollment for more beta testers in the coming weeks. It’s slated to publicly launch sometime in February. If you would like to get a look at this new site, just follow Moms In Hawaii on Twitter or Facebook and reply when they make their open call for beta testers. Until then, you can check out the party pics below.
