Do this! July 7-13
Estria’s ‘Water Writes’ Mural Unveiling
You’re invited to the unveiling of Hawaii’s newest and biggest mural, created by Oakland-based graffiti artist pioneer Estria and the artists of 808 Urban. The mural is part of the Estria Foundation’s “Water Writes” worldwide series addressing the issues surrounding water and water conservation.
Why should you go? If not for the stunning mural itself, because the celebration will be akin to a festival, with guest appearances by the Governor, the HCC Chancellor, and a host of local artists and musicians, including Palani Vaughan, Halau Ali’i ‘Ilima, John Prime Hina, Vogue TDK, Eukarezt, Ckaweeks, and Estria himself. There will also be food trucks, activity booths and vendors on hand.
Honolulu Community College, 905 Kokea St.; Thursday, July 7 from 4-7 p.m.; free, all ages
