Nonstop eats: Doraku Sushi Kaka’ako

The new Doraku on Kapiolani Boulevard has been on my radar ever since I heard it was opening almost a year ago. I’ve been a fan of the Waikiki restaurant ever since I attended the 2010 Good Table fundraiser for Lanakila Pacific’s Meals on Wheels.

Currently, Doraku is open from 4 p.m. to midnight, with plans of expanding hours to include lunch and closing at 2 a.m. on the weekends.

Here’s a look at this new Kaka’ako sushi and Japanese eatery.

The new restaurant in the Pacifica Honolulu condo on Kapiolani (across from McKinley High School) caters more to locals, with slightly lower prices than the Waikiki location. Locals also no longer have to go into Waikiki to enjoy Doraku’s cuisine.
