Aloha Taipei! Weathering the storm
I’m going out of order on my blog posts for obvious reasons today: As you know, Typhoon Soulik hit Taiwan yesterday, a category 3 typhoon that caused quite a bit of havoc on the coast of this island nation. Fortunately, Taipei itself is surrounded by mountains, so some of the storm’s impact was absorbed there before hitting the city.
I know a lot of you saw Cat and me on the news giving updates on the storm and the status of the Hawaiian Airlines delegation stranded here. I think the video made it look a lot worse than it really was for us, but thank you for your well wishes and concern. For us, it was just a very big storm, and we are happy to have come out of it without any big tales to tell. Here are highlights of how our day went.
