In a collaboration with the Pow Wow School of Art, 808 Urban and the Estria Foundation, about 15 students from local schools got the historic chance to paint and draw colorful artwork on the hatch covers of the Hokulea, Hawaii’s famous voyaging canoe, Saturday at the Marine Educational Training Center at Sand Island.

There she is, one of Hawaii’s most famous travelers, the Hokulea voyaging canoe. She’s currently being outfitted for a three-year voyage around the world, starting in mid-May.
