This year commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau. The big-wave surf contest boasts 28 of the world’s best surfers riding some of its biggest waves. Hula Holidays

Kick off the season with seven days of singing and dancing at A Hula Christmas at the Royal Hawaiian Center. Make Some Noise

For two weeks only, the Hawaii Theatre will be stomping, jumping and jamming. The hit sensation Stomp is returning to Honolulu. Its performers use a unique array of instruments, such as tractor-tire inner tubes, paint cans and boxes, to create impromptu music. Celestial Showers

Head outdoors tonight for a fireworkslike display of shooting stars. The Geminids, considered by some to be the best meteor shower each year, produces more than 60 meteors per hour, for several hours. Be sure to view them away from city lights, and bring a blanket.
