4th Annual Hawaii Food and Wine Festival Tickets on Sale Now

The lineup for the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival has been announced and tickets are now on sale. In its fourth year, the state's largest food and wine event now includes events on Big Island and Maui and brings together more than 80 chefs from Hawaii and around the world.

Co-chairs Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi see the festival as an extension of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement that started about 20 years ago—a way to bring international attention to Hawaii's chefs and farmers. And to make it official, the Hawaii State Legislature passed a resolution to declare HFWF the the next agricultural and culinary movement in the State of Hawai‘i.

Some of the highlights of the fourth Hawaii Food and Wine Festival, August 29 through September 7:

Under a Maui Moon
Six chefs, including Isaac Bancacao (Kaana Kitchen, Maui), Floyd Cardoz (North End Grill, NY) and Mourad Lahlou (Aziza, SF) will cook a six-course menu on the beach, under the stars.

A Lucky Modern Buddha Belly
Some heavy hitters headline Oahu's opening event at the Modern, such as Nancy Oakes (Boulevard, SF), Andy Ricker (Pok Pok in Portland) and Nancy Silverton (Mozza in LA). This has been one my favorite events from previous years.

Laulima at Heeia
Attendees will get their hands dirty in Heeia fishpond or loi and lunch will be provided by chefs Jose Garces (Garces Group, Philadelphia), Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys, SF), Mark Noguchi (Lunchbox, Oahu) and Christina Tosi (Momofuku Milk Bar, NY).

It's a Food World After All
The closing night event features 16 chefs on the beach in front of Aulani. Some of the chefs cooking include Jason Fox (Commonwealth, SF) and Naomi Pomeroy (Beast, Portland).
