Don the Rocks

Wings Hawaii launches Rock Studdy bag line

Rock Studdy bags by Wings Hawaii

Truth be told, we're totally obsessed with rock stars. They're edgy, ooze show-stopping style, and look even better with age...

Erm, did we say rock stars? We meant Rock Studdy, a new bag line by Wings Hawaii. The Maui-based brand has been making unique, hand-crafted bags off and on for a few years, but now it's finally offering a full 10-piece collection to pair with fresh, new spring/summer apparel pieces.

Leather gets the VIP treatment with star-studded accents and gorgeous printed linings. Stay classic with roomy navy totes and ikat interiors or edge your style bets with tasseled front satchels and jagged, stud-covered flaps.

Does your taste run more Coachella than heavy metal? No problem. Aztec-inspired woven shoulder bags with peyote-stitched seed bead zipper pulls and leather fringe perfectly harmonize tribal and boho chic trends, as does a statement-making vintage beaded mandala purse.

Unlike some beer-bellied, Botox-filled has-been, these beauties thrive on years of hard living (early prototypes show that the leather gets softer and the shape more relaxed over time).

So put another dime in the jukebox.

It's time to rock and stroll.

$80-$450, available at Wings Hawaii, 71 Baldwin Ave. in Paia, (808) 579-3110, and online at View Wings Hawaii's style video and lookbook for the entire spring/summmer collection.
