My family and I chose to celebrate my birthday at Azure last night because the Honolulu Magazine endorsed it with a Hale Aina award, and was on the cover of this month's magazine. BAD!!! I highly do not reccommed anyone eating here unless they have time to waste. The service was appalling! Our server had an attitude and was not kind at all, no one came to refill our water glasses - it took me over 10 attempts to try to flag down anybody to get more water! I wouldn't expect any of this coming from such a highly acclaimed restaurant. The waiter knew it was my birthday but handed us the bill at the end of the night - not even a little birthday dessert - something you would automatically get at every restaurant that you eat at for your birthday! I had to ask politely after we received our bill if they do anything special for birthdays. Our waiter replied because you didn't order any desserts I thought you didn't want anything at all! The table right in front of me received a birthday sundae with a birthday candle and three cherries. After waiting another 20 minutes, my waiter brought out a sundae with no birthday candle and half a cherry! I highly do not reccommend this restaurant to any locals or anyone unless you want to spoil an evening with a miserable experience thanks to the unfriendly, unkind staff. Very snobby! You get way better service eating at McDonalds! McDonalds can be proud of their first class service they deliver to ALL customers. They do not discriminate as this restuarant does!
