Honolulu’s Chinatown arts district turns into the island’s biggest and bawdiest Halloween party on Oct. 27, with live music, craft beer, food and more than 10,000 costumed revelers roaming the neighborhood. This year’s street festival, which runs from 5 to 10 p.m., will feature food trucks, five stages of music—Ja Rule will be performing at Aloha Tower Marketplace—and Hawai‘i’s largest Halloween outdoor craft beer experience. Club Hallowbaloo, the festival’s afterparty, includes entrance to 10 clubs with just one cover charge. A part of bar sales will be donated to Habitat For Humanity’s efforts to help victims of Kīlauea.

Art After Dark: CarnEVIL
There’s nothing creepier than a haunted carnival, with its grotesque freak shows and killer clowns. (Think Tod Robbins’s 1932 movie Freaks, Stephen King’s 1986 novel It or the third installment of Final Destination. Creepy.) This year’s CarnEVIL theme at Art After Dark, presented by iichiko, should be no less horrifying. Food will be provided by EAT Honolulu and cocktails by Free Spirits Mobile Bartenders.

Halloween at the Hyatt
Drop the game controller and go live action at this year’s Halloween at the Hyatt on Oct. 31. This year’s theme, “Frightnite: Halloween Battle Royale,” is total RPG, so suit up—hero or villain—to battle zombies and other scary frights for prizes. You can also win up to $2,000 in cash and prizes in the annual Halloween costume contest. The official afterparty will be held at The District Nightclub. So what if it’s a Wednesday night?
