You’ll Want to Plan Ahead to Avoid This Week’s Road Closures: Nov. 11-17, 2017

It’s hard to drag yourself out of bed on a workday morning, especially after a long weekend. If you’re already running late, getting stuck in traffic is the last thing you need. Plan your commute with this week’s road closure guide.

 

Note: Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

H-1 Freeway

‘Aiea

Three lanes will be closed in the westbound direction between the Kaimakani Street overpass and the Ka‘amilo Street overpass from Thursday night, Nov. 16, to Friday morning, Nov. 17, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

 

‘Ewa to Kapolei

Between the Kunia offramp (Exit 5B) and the Kalaeloa Boulevard overpass, in the westbound direction, one lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday night, Nov. 12, through Friday morning, Nov. 17, for sign work.

 

Between the Kapolei/‘Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Makakilo Drive overpass, in the westbound direction, one lane will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, for utility installations.

 

Hālawa to Pearl City

Two westbound lanes will be closed between the ‘Aiea Heights Drive overpass and the H-1/H-2 split for striping work from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday night, Nov. 12, through Friday morning, Nov. 17.

 

Honolulu

Up to three right lanes will be closed in the eastbound direction between the Pālama Street underpass and the Queen Emma Street overpass from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday night, Nov. 12, through Thursday morning, Nov. 16, for guardrail improvements.

 

There will be a 24-hour shoulder closure in the eastbound direction near the Liliha Street overpass, the A‘ala Street overpass and the Queen Emma Street overpass from Sunday, Nov. 11, through Friday, Nov. 17, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

Also in the eastbound direction, between the Liliha Street overpass and the A‘ala Street overpass, the right lane and shoulder will be closed from 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, through 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, for guardrail maintenance.

 

Honolulu to Hālawa

Both eastbound and westbound will have shoulder closures on the H-1 Freeway ramps between the Ke‘ehi interchange and the Hālawa interchange on Monday night, Nov. 13, to Friday morning, Nov. 17, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. for survey work.

 

Kalihi to Waipahu

In the westbound direction, there will be a roving left lane closure between the Ke‘ehi interchange and Managers Drive overpass for maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.

 

Kapolei

In both directions of the freeway, there will be a roving closure for maintenance between the Kunia interchange and the Kalaeloa Boulevard overpass from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

 

There will be another roving closure in both directions between the Kunia Road underpass and the Kalaeloa Boulevard overpass from Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

Pearl Harbor

From Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, there will be lane shifts in the eastbound direction on the Nimitz Highway offramp (Exit 15) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

 

H-2 Freeway

Mililani

Headed north, there will be a left lane closure between the Pineapple Road overpass and the Mililani Mauka offramp (Exit 5A) from Monday, Nov. 13, to Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for maintenance work.

 

H-201 Moanalua Freeway

Hālawa

In the westbound direction, between the Kāne‘ohe offramp (Exit 1D) and the ‘Aiea Heights Drive overpass, a lane will be closed for road improvements on Sunday night, Nov. 12, to Friday morning, Nov. 17, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

 

H-3 Freeway

Hālawa

There will be a roving lane closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Harano Tunnel and the Stadium/Hālawa/Camp Smith/‘Aiea offramp (Exit 1C) on Monday, Nov. 13, to Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Kāne‘ohe

At the Harano Tunnel, there will be right lane closures on Tuesday, Nov. 14, through Wednesday, Nov. 15, for maintenance.

  • The Honolulu-bound direction will have a right lane closure from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

  • The Kāne‘ohe-bound direction will have a right lane closure from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

 

On Thursday, Nov. 16, and Friday, Nov. 17, the left lane in both directions near the Kamehameha Highway underpass will be closed for maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

Farrington Highway

Kapolei

There will be an alternating lane closure between Wakea Street and Kalaeloa Boulevard on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety improvements. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

Nānākuli

One lane will be closed eastbound between Haleakalā Avenue and Nānākuli Avenue from Sunday, Nov. 12, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. for utility installations.

 

Westbound, the right lane between Nānākuli Avenue and Lualualei Naval Road will be closed for utility installations on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Wai‘anae

In the westbound direction, between Kili Drive and Makua Valley Road, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repairs. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

Kahekili Highway

Kāne‘ohe

Northbound, there will be a lane closure between Kahuipa Street and Ha‘ikū Road for sewer maintenance on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

In both directions near Hui ‘Iwa Street, there will be an alternating lane closure from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, for maintenance.

 

Also in both directions, there will be a lane closure between East Hui ‘Iwa Street and Ha‘ikū Road on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sign work.

 

Kalaniana‘ole Highway

Kailua

On Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be an eastbound lane closure near the Keolu Drive intersection for drainage repairs.

 

Maunawili to Hawai‘i Kai

Between Kamehameha Highway and Makapu‘u Lighthouse Road, there will be a roving lane closure for maintenance work from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.

 

Waimānalo

The shoulder will be closed between Kanapu‘u Drive and Po‘alima Street on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repairs.

 

Between Flamingo Street and Bell Street, there will be a roving closure in both directions on Monday, Nov. 13, and Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for maintenance.

 

There will be another lane closure in both directions of Kalaniana‘ole Highway between ‘Ālo‘ilo‘i Street and Po‘alima Street on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sidewalk improvements.

 

Kamehameha Highway

Hālawa

Westbound, between Kohomua Street and Salt Lake Boulevard, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the rail project.

 

In the eastbound direction, between the H-201 Freeway and Salt Lake Boulevard, there will be another lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the rail project.

 

Hālawa Drive will have a right turn lane closure in the westbound direction on Monday night, Nov. 13, to Friday morning, Nov. 17, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

 

Hale‘iwa to Kahalu‘u

In both directions between Jospeh P. Leong Highway and Kahekiki Highway, there will be a roving lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Ka‘a‘awa

There will be a shoulder closure for sign installations in both directions between Kahana Valley Road and Ka‘a‘awa Valley Road on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Southbound on Kamehameha Highway, there will be a lane closure between Kina Place and Ke‘o Place on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance work.

 

Ka‘a‘awa to Waikāne

Between Waiāhole Valley Road and Waiāhole Homestead Road, in the southbound direction, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Kāne‘ohe

In the Kāne‘ohe-bound direction, there will be lane shifts near the H-3 Freeway overpass on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Mililani

From 9 p.m. on Friday night, Nov. 10, through to 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, the highway will be closed in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikūhana Avenue for bridge work. Motorists are advised to use the H-2 Freeway as an alternate route.

 

From Monday, Nov. 13, through to Friday, Nov. 17, northbound traffic will have a closure between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikūhana Avenue for bridge rehabilitation work from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

Pearl Harbor

A lane will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction, between Center Drive and the H-1 Freeway, from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 11, for maintenance.

 

Eastbound, at the onramp to the H-1 Freeway and Nimitz Highway, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the rail project.

 

Near Center Drive, there will be lane closures in both directions on Saturday, Nov. 11, and from Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, for the rail project.

  • Eastbound lane closures will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Westbound lane closures will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

 

Between Center Drive and Arizona Street, in both directions, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

  • Eastbound lane closures will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Westbound lane closures will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

 

In the eastbound direction, there will be a right lane closure between Center Drive and the onramp to the H-1 Freeway from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, for electrical maintenance work.

 

Wahiawā

Kamemameha Highway will have an alternating lane closure in both directions between Nui Avenue and Pa‘ala‘a Uka Pūpūkea Road on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Southbound traffic will have a lane closed between Wilikina Drive and Waikalani Drive for slope improvement work from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13.

 

Waipahu

There will be an alternating lane closure in the northbound direction between the Farrington Highway underpass and Waipahu Street from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, and Friday, Nov. 17, for maintenance work.

 

Between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waiawa Road, there will be another alternating lane closure for maintenance on Monday, Nov. 13, to Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Likelike Highway

Honolulu to Kāne‘ohe

In the Kāne‘ohe-bound direction, the right lane will be closed between the H-1 Freeway and Kahekili Highway on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for guardrail work.

 

Kalihi

Honolulu-bound traffic will have a 24-hour right lane closure in place between Kula Kolea Drive and Kamehameha IV Road from Friday, Nov. 10, until 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, for utility installations.

 

Up to two lanes may be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction between Kono Street and School Street on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for road repairs.

 

Up to two lanes may be closed between Emmeline Place and Kono Street, also in the Honolulu-bound direction, on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road repairs.

 

Between School Street and Kalihi Street, in the Kāne‘ohe-bound direction, there will be a lane closure for electrical and guardrail work on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Between Kalihi Street and ‘Alu Street, in the Kāne‘ohe-bound direction, there will be a lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for electrical and guardrail work.

 

Also in the Kāne‘ohe-bound direction, between Emmeline Place and ‘Alu Street, there will be another closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for electrical and guardrail work.

 

In both directions, there will be alternating lane closures between the Wilson Tunnel and Valley View Drive on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage work.

 

Nimitz Highway

Honolulu

The westbound right lane will be closed between Sand Island Access Road and Āhua Street from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, for maintenance.

 

In both directions near Valkenburgh Street, there will be lane closures on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

  

A westbound right lane will be closed between the Iwilei Road offramp and Sumner Street on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance work.

 

Pali Highway

Maunawili

The Kāne‘ohe-bound right lane will be closed near the Pali Lookout offramp from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, for maintenance.

 

Nu‘uanu

Both directions of the Pali will have right lane closures between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance work.

 

The right lane at the Pali Tunnel in the Honolulu-bound direction will also be closed for maintenance on Monday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

 

In the Honolulu-bound direction, between the Pali Tunnels and Nu‘uanu Pali Drive, the right lane will be closed for lighting replacements on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Nu‘uanu to Maunawili

Between South Beretania Street and Kamehameha Highway, in both directions, there will be a roving lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Ala Moana Boulevard

Honolulu

Ala Moana Boulevard will be closed in the westbound direction between Pi‘ikoi Street and Queen Street from 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, for drainage repairs. Traffic will be contraflowed in the eastbound lanes.

 

Between Atkinson Drive and Pi‘ikoi Street, there will be a westbound lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance work.

 

In both directions, between Queen Street and Pi‘ikoi Street, there will be lane closures for drainage repairs on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Between Keawe Street and Coral Street, there will be lane closures for maintenance in both directions on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Westbound, between Bishop Street and Bethel Street, there will be a lane closure for electrical maintenance work on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

The westbound right lane will be closed between Ward Avenue and Cooke Street on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility installations.

 

Salt Lake Boulevard

Hālawa

In the westbound direction, between Luapele Drive and Kahuapa‘ani Street, a lane will be closed for maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.

 

West Hind Drive

‘Āina Haina

The right lane will be closed in the southbound direction at the Kalaniana‘ole Highway intersection for maintenance work on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Keahumoa Parkway

Kapolei

The right lane will be closed 24 hours in both directions near Kualakai Parkway from Friday, Nov. 10, through Friday, Nov. 17, for the rail project. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

 

Kailua Road

There will be a roving lane closure for maintenance work going in both directions between Hāmākua Drive and Kalaniana‘ole Highway on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Fort Barrette Road

Kapolei

In both directions between Farrington Highway and Roosevelt Avenue, there will be a roving lane closure on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to noon for maintenance work.

 

Fort Weaver Road

‘Ewa

Both directions of Fort Weaver Road will have roving lane closures between the H-1 Freeway and N Road on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Hālawa Heights Road

Hālawa

Both directions between Hulumanu Street and Palaiali‘i Place will have roving lane closures for maintenance work on Monday, Nov. 13, to Thursday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Kunia Road

Wahiawā

There will be a northbound roving lane closure near Kunia Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 15, for electrical maintenance.

 

Aolele Street

Honolulu

The Paiea Street intersection will have lane closures in both directions for the rail project on Monday night, Nov. 13, to Friday morning, Nov. 17, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. For more details visit honolulutransit.org.

 

Hālona Street

There will be a westbound right land closure between Vineyard Boulevard and Houghtailing Street for electrical maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16.

 

Kuhuapa‘ani Street

Both directions will have a roving lane closure between Salt Lake Boulevard and Ulune Street on Monday, Nov. 13, to Thursday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance.

 

Waokanaka Street

There will be an eastbound right land closure between the Pali Highway and Waokanaka Place for slope stabilization on Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
