Two of our favorite Hawai‘i designers, Emily Jaime of Yireh and Kailee Freitas of Mahina Made, have teamed up on a holiday pop-up shop at South Shore Market, open now through the end of 2023. What’s especially exciting is that, along with bestsellers from both brands, you can snag exclusive in-store products and get access to new releases before they’re available online.

Read on for what’s at the top of our list!

1. Yireh x Mahina Made Pā‘ū o Hi‘iaka Collection

This newly released collection is the second collab between Jaime and Freitas. “The last one was based off of one of Kailee’s prints, so this time, we wanted to make something completely new and original,” Jaime says. “We’re both really inspired by native Hawaiian flowers and culture.” The friends worked with a local artist to design a print around the Pā‘u o Hi‘iaka flower, which gets its name from the legend of when Pele brought her baby sister Hi‘iaka with her to the beach. While Pele was out in the water surfing, a flowering vine grew and covered Hi‘iaka, protecting her from the sun’s rays.

Tip: Look for the print in Yireh’s bestselling silhouettes, plus the brand-new women’s Indy dress style (above right) which has a comfy smocked bodice, tie straps and a knee-length hem.

2. Mahina Made Lei Lokelani Tee in Maku‘e

Mahina Made’s newest T-shirt design, the Lei Lokelani features dainty strands of rosebuds against a rich dark brown background. “It was inspired by Princess Pauahi’s favorite flower, the rose,” Freitas says. “Recently, it’s become very popular because it’s the flower of Maui, and it’s been a great way to show our love and support for the people and the ‘āina as they continue to navigate this rough journey.”

3. Yireh Tropicana & Blue Hawai‘i Collections

Dropping at the pop-up shop on Nov. 3 (a day before they hit the website), these gorgeous watercolor-inspired prints are the first releases from Yireh’s holiday 2023 collection. “They make you feel like you’re wearing pieces of artwork,” Jaime says. We love the bold and poppy hues, which take cues from hibiscus, inky ocean waters and blue skies. “They’re perfect for the holidays in Hawai‘i—festive but tropical.”

4. Mahina Made Accessories

The pop-up is currently the only place you can get Mahina Made’s chic Pua Kenikeni ‘Eke (above, left), which pairs the brand’s signature pua kenikeni blooms with classic, wear-with-everything black. “I wanted to design a whole outfit around our lei tees, and you can never have enough bags!” Freitas says.

Also, keep an eye out for the new lightweight Holoholo backpack, which is both foldable and water-resistant, and the travel accessories Freitas designed for Hawaiian Airlines.

5. Yireh Men’s and Keiki Styles

Just in time for holiday photos, Yireh is offering matching apparel for the whole fam. “For a long time, we’ve gotten a lot of requests for men’s shirts to match our mom and keiki fashions,” Jaime says. Along with girls’ dresses and a boy’s aloha shirt, you’ll find the men’s button-up in several prints.
