Brasserie Du Vin’s next two weekly wine dinners feature the hearty tastes of the sea and New England. The dinners are an informal three-course prix fixe menu offered every Monday evening.

February 15 – Essence of the Sea: Crawfish, Oysters & Lobsters

First course
Cream of corn soup with saffron oil and crawfish butter
Paired with Famega ‘Vinho Verde’ Alvarinho, Portugal 2008
Second course
Penn Cove oysters fried in Champagne batter with tomato coulis, frisee aux lardons (salad
with poached egg) and fresh herb balsamic vinaigrette
Paired with Protocolo Tempranillo Rose, Castilla, Spain 2008
Third course
Broiled lobster tail with Vermont cheddar cheese soufflé
Paired with Hedges CMS (Chardonnay, Marsanne, Sauvignon Blanc) Columbia Valley, Washington 2006
February 22 – New England
First course
Clam chowder made with cream, potatoes, onions, celery and littleneck clams
Paired with Picpoul de Pinet, Languedoc, France 2008
Second course
Pan fried crab cakes with blue crab, onions, bell peppers, bread crumbs, served with a lemon caper dill aioli
Paired with Chateau Bonnet, White Bordeaux Blend, France 2008
Third course
Lobster Newburg, a lobster tail simmered in a sauce of cream, eggs, cognac and sherry, served with salad of watercress
Paired with Zaca Mesa Rousanne, Santa Ynez Valley, California 2006
Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and reservations recommended. The dinners are available for $49 (plus tax and gratuity).

On Thursday, February 18th at 7 p.m., Du Vin welcomes Cerro Negro with Rumba Negro and La Caravana
Cerro Negro returns to Hawaii in February with a new palette of sounds and songs. The band blends musical styles and instruments from around the globe. In addition to their Flamenco roots, Cerro Negro will present Peruvian, Balkan and Turkish inspirations (to name just a few). Their instruments include cajon (box drum), Spanish guitars, Irish bodhran (frame drum), Turkish "cumbus" (a banjo-like, stringed instrument), German melodica, and electronic synth-controllers to create a modern dance vibe.
Then on Saturday, February 20th at 8 p.m., Du Vin hosts Guitarist and award-winning composer, Jeff Linsky.
Jeff has been sharing his beautiful music with audiences around the world for over three decades. Linsky has performed in concerts halls throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America. He makes Hawaii an annual stop.
