Wine Dinner at the Kahala

This weekend, the Kahala Hotel & Resort celebrates the wines of Northern California with two special events.

Hoku’s will host Napa and Sonoma Wine Dinner on Friday, August 20, 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. A special five-course dinner paired with wine selections from Napa and Sonoma will be featured.

First course

Eggplant and Kauai Shrimp Tartar

Hawaiian Summer Tomato Tasting

Hoku’s Surf and Turf
Grilled Petite Prime Tenderloin of Beef
Butter Poached “Merus Cut” Alaskan King Crab
Wailua Asparagus, Sauce Choron

Dessert course

Fromage Blanc Tart
Grilled Apricots, Apricot?Vanilla Syrup, Basil Ice Cream

The dinner is offered at $80 per person plus tax and gratuity.

The wine dinner kicks off the Kahala’s next Symposia event, Beachside, the next night. See the full event details on the Kahala’s website. On Saturday, August 21, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. guests can interact with vintners and sample selections from Napa and Sonoma.

The Kahala’s executive chef Wayne Hirabayashi will prepare summer-inspired dishes at four culinary stations – sushi, action, buffet and dessert. He will be assisted by his culinary team; Chef Greg Gascon, Plumeria Beach House, Chef Albert Cabebe, Seaside Grill, and Chef Thomas Ho.

The event is $80 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
