Wimini Hawaii opens Kailua boutique
Little Wimin'
If you wanted to kick off the new year with your best night ever, sorry. Amy Poehler beat you to it.
If you wanted to kick off the new year by opening your own store after seven years of designing playful, eco-friendly clothing for adults and keiki, sorry. Wimini Hawaii beat you to it.
Hey, you don't mind. Now, you can find Wimini's entire lineup of baby-soft tees, onesies and totes on display in a cozy little shop in Kailua, all hand-printed with eco-friendly, water-based ink in cheery, whimsical designs – think heart-blowing whales or top-hat-sporting surfers. You can also follow owner Mari Chino's new ventures into jewelry (starting with beaded bracelets and a delicate druzy necklace) and candle-making (laced with peppermint in tiny mason jars).
Then, browse a handful of curated lines by artisans from across the country: simple geometric necklaces, earrings and rings from Charlottesville-based Elaine B Jewelry; leather wallets, bracelets and a coffee pour-over stand from Minneapolis' Solid Manufacturing Co.; vintage-inspired soaps, lotions and bath salts from St. Louis-based Barr-Co.; and small-batch Pommes Frites candles from Los Angeles in intoxicating scents like Fig and Jasmine and (our favorite!) Laundry Day.
Which, FYI, makes any room smell like a basket of freshly laundered sheets.
Hey, you wanted to start the new year with a clean slate.
