We’re Swooning Over Pretty Holly Saori Calligraphy

Here comes the bride—with calligraphy products we’ll all fall in love with.

We have a proposal to make.
*Gets down on one knee*
Will you … be our pen pal?

OK, so we’re not offering any diamond rings here (sorry to disappoint you), but we think you’ll still be pretty stoked to #sayyes after taking a gander at the goods we’re looking to use.

Holly Saori is the creative passion project of Holly Shinohara, an Island expat girlboss (she’s an electrical engineer by day and moonlights as a calligraphy artist) now based in California. When she got engaged at the end of 2014, her passion for art inspired her to take a watercolor calligraphy class to see if she could whip up something sweet for her upcoming wedding—and the rest is history. Talk about a match made in heaven: Shinohara began by dabbling in bridesmaids’ gifts, but her cheeky, cheerful style turned heads, namely Sheri Kira of Kira Hawai‘i, one of Shinohara’s oldest pals. Now you can find her extended line of products in Kira Hawai‘i, The Wedding Café, Red Pineapple and online, and Shinohara has plans to teach a calligraphy workshop and design customizable wedding suites.

Just imagine if we popped the question (like, want to go get coffee?) on her festive gold greeting cards, emblazoned with perky proclamations such as “Make a wish!” and “Cheers!” Or, if you’re riding solo but still have sweet nothings to jot down to yourself, Shinohara’s Moleskine journals are just the ticket. “Peace, Love and Pineapples,” says one. Another dreamily declares, “Midnight Musings,” while another exclaims that “Everything is awesome.” We couldn’t agree more. And, yes: There’s a Holly Saori art print line, as well as custom options for customers looking to get a little personal.

We’re feeling marry just thinking about it.
