Real Tail Gating

What: Music, food, and oh yes, a polo match. Tomorrow is the final for the season, so bring your friends, your flat shoes, and your LC cheat sheet to watching the sport in the islands.

Drive In Shopping

What: 50 new shops are coming to Ala Moana Center, for four hours at least. Today, the mall launches its first ever Farmers’ Market. Snack on fresh baked croissants from the North Shore’s Baker Dudes, Ono’s Seafood’s poke, top grade produce from Rooftop Farmers, or Madre Chocolate’s raw chocolate bar with a surprising wine-like finish while listening to the music of local entertainers such as Lopaka Brown.

When: Today, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Ala Moana Center, 2nd floor parking lot outside of Sears.

Just Rooting Around

What: Having trouble weeding out the outdoor activities for your holiday weekend? Get your Eco-Action girl scout badge on the Manoa Cliff Restoration Hike. Work off your pau hana Friday with a one-and-a-half mile hike to clear out invasive plants along the Manoa Cliff Trail.

When:Tomorrow, 9 a.m. – noon

Where: Meet at the Manoa Cliff Trailhead, a small parking area on the right side of the road just after 4005 Round Top Dr.

Details: Bring gardening tools, food, water, insect repellent (or try the AntiMosquito Fumigator App), and a change of clothes. Visit the Manoa Cliff website for more information or email manoacliffnatives@gmail.com.

Buzzworthy App

What: Outdoor activities really bite when mosquitoes crash your party. The free AntiMosquito Fumigator App swears it will shoo away pests with two ultrasound repellants. We found the “open air” setting a loud buzz but the “ultrasound” won’t disturb your ears.

Details: Find it on the iTunes store
