Weekend Picks October 30, 2008

Lei Chic’s guide to the weekend’s best events.
The Halloween Spirit
What: You've heard all the scary stories about drinking absinthe, which makes it the boo-ze of choice for this weekend. Bartender Joey Gottesman of E&O Trading Co. has mixed up the Gargoyle, a minty/licorice tasting brew with absinthe, sour mix and simple syrup. But sip it slow – absinthe has a high alcohol content, and thanks to the herbal wormwood extract in the liquor, the effect can feel like a trippy body buzz.
When: Anytime
Where: E&O Trading Company, Ward Center
