Melt
Dinner and a Movie
What: The Doris Duke Theatre and Melt Food Truck have a deal that’s anything but cheesy. Grab a specialty sandwich curbside, and dine outside in the Academy of Arts courtyard. Then feed your soul with Two Funerals, an award-winning comedy about a casket catastrophe (it’s funnier than it sounds)
When: Saturday. Melt starts service at 5:30 p.m. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Honolulu Academy of Arts, seats are set up in the courtyard between Ward Avenue and Victoria Street.
Details: Movie tickets are $8.50, $7.50 for students, senior citizens, and military. Call 808.532.8700 for more information.
Sea & Shop
What: Shrug off the windy weather and get beach ready with 1979’s new swimwear collection. Creator Suzanna Kuhlemann will be showing off her latest styles on the runway at Ala Moana. Think corset seaming, saturate colors and one -pieces. The suits won’t be in stores until summer. But you can score one of her samples right after the show.
When: Friday, 2 p.m. Then shop for 1979 suits and meet Kuhlemann at the HIFI Pop-up, bottom level, between Hilo Hattie’s and Sam Goody’s.
Where: Ala Moana, Centerstage.
Details: Check out 1979 now at its website. This is the last weekend for the Pop-Up shop where you can browse the best from local designers. Click here for the full schedule.

Details: The application only works with Google Chrome. Click here to start deleting now.
