Lei Chic Blueprints of Tides
: Beautiful Kailua Beach becomes a construction zone for the 33rd Annual Sandcastle Esquisse (esquisse: the first sketch of a picture or model of a sculpture). Bring a picnic and sunscreen to reserve a seat along the shore as teams of University of Hawaii architecture students and professional architects dig in and build up structures from around the world.
When: Saturday, Building begins at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Kailua Beach Park, to the left of the canal when you're facing the ocean.

Slow Start
What: You partied first, now ease back into Slow Art Friday downtown. Raise a glass to Brasserie Du Vin's craft beer prix fixe menu, and finish it off with eatables from Otto Cake and KCC's fro-yo. Then spend your green on vintage and recyclable heavy designs from Etown, Shop & Bop, Art & Flea and more.

Get Down and Derby
What: You might not have to sing for your dinner, but Hawaii's roller derby team needs your help rock 'n rolling them to the Dust Devil Tournament in Arizona. The fundraiser features a bake sale, prize drawing, and drink specials, so you'll feel no pain when you grab the mike in front of Hawaii's only rock 'n' roll karaoke band.
When: Tomorrow, 9:00 p.m.- midnight
Where: Mercury Bar, 1154 Fort Street Mall

What: Have a blast with the past at Cloth's latest shopping event. The traveling vintage boutique is turning to Hawaiiana this weekend, with classic clothes, home decorations and accessories that won't make you look like a tourist when you're wandering down the streets of Waikiki.

What: Enjoy an afternoon of music outdoors on the beautiful North Shore. Every third Sunday, Waimea Valley hosts its Kanikapila. Sit and listen in to the teenage family group, Abrigo Ohana, or plug in your own instrument and play along.
