Get Down and Derby Change of a Dress Take Note Blueprints of Tides
What: Beautiful Kailua Beach becomes a construction zone for the 33rd Annual Sandcastle Esquisse (esquisse: the first sketch of a picture or model of a sculpture). Bring a picnic and sunscreen to reserve a seat along the shore as teams of University of Hawaii architecture students and professional architects dig in and build up structures from around the world.
When: Saturday, Building begins at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Kailua Beach Park, to the left of the canal when you're facing the ocean.

What: You partied first, now ease back into Slow Art Friday downtown. Raise a glass to Brasserie Du Vin's craft beer prix fixe menu, and finish it off with eatables from Otto Cake and KCC's fro-yo. Then spend your green on vintage and recyclable heavy designs from Etown, Shop & Bop, Art & Flea and more.

What: You might not have to sing for your dinner, but Hawaii's roller derby team needs your help rock 'n rolling them to the Dust Devil Tournament in Arizona. The fundraiser features a bake sale, prize drawing, and drink specials, so you'll feel no pain when you grab the mike in front of Hawaii's only rock 'n' roll karaoke band.
