Watch Your BLΛQ
What:
Be the first to view Matt Bruening's holiday 2013 collection at a special fashion show tomorrow night. BLΛQ (pronounced "black") is a play on the "end of the world" and new beginnings. Expect fewer prints this time around; Bruening utilizes mostly solid colors – black, white and nude with a punch of blush and camo – and keeps the focus on texture, juxtaposing jersey, wovens, silk and chiffon for a luxe, refined feel. Everything will be available for sale after the show, with prices ranging from $30-$170, cash only. Most of the pieces will be one of a kind; Bruening is not planning on selling this collection in stores.
When: Tomorrow, doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Republik, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd., 3rd Floor.
Details: $20 per ticket, includes entrance to Christa Wittmier’s "Last Ever" party with live music from electro-pop duo The Knocks and proceeds going to local art collective Pow Wow Hawaii. Click here to buy tickets.
