D.C.-based The Runcible Spoon peppers its cut-and-paste (really) articles on food with recipes straight from folks like Louis Armstrong's family. Or take a breathing break with Kinfolk, a zine dedicated to downtime complete with gorgeous photography, quotes from Henry David Thoreau and Winnie the Pooh, and sections devoted to celebrating for parties of one, two, and three or more.

A Walk You'll Remember
What: Get a bird's eye view of some of the most beautiful spots on Oahu with the Sierra Club's Photography Hike. The two-mile trek is easy enough for beginners and moves at a snail's pace so you have ample time to capture panoramic views of Kawaninui Marsh and the Koolau vistas.
When: Sunday, 8 a.m.
Where: Meet at the Church of the Crossroads in Moiliili. Then you'll caravan to the trail on the Windward side.
