Waves of Change: HASC 2025 Unites the World in Waikīkī
(Partner Content) Over 90 adaptive surfers from across the world competed in the 17th Hawai‘i Adaptive Surfing Championships.
From May 15–19, 2025, the legendary Queen’s Surf Break in Waikiki became a global stage for courage, community, and celebration as over 90 adaptive surfers from across the world competed in the 17th Hawai‘i Adaptive Surfing Championships (HASC). Hosted by AccesSurf and part of the AASP World Tour, this landmark event brought heart, heritage and high-performance surfing to the shores of O‘ahu.
But HASC 2025 was more than a contest—it was a movement. Throughout the week, cultural programming, community outreach, a film premiere, and VIP gatherings reflected AccesSurf’s mission: to create access and belonging in the ocean for all. With nine competitive divisions, athletes of all abilities carved waves and shattered barriers—reminding us that the ocean has no limits.
Mahalo to our volunteers, athletes, staff, and everyone who made this year unforgettable.
A special thank you to our incredible sponsors: Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, Southwest Airlines, Kyoya Hotels & Resorts, North Shore Prosthetics, Twin Fin, ‘Alohilani Resort, High Fives Foundation, HONOLULU Magazine, and Voyage Car Rental. Your generosity brought this vision to life.
Until next year—mahalo for riding the wave with us.
