Unsolicited Advice: Gov. Abercrombie, tear down this fence!

Does state government have it in for Aiea and Pearl City? Where Kamehameha Highway runs through these neighborhoods, it is more pothole patchwork than actual pavement, but even more depressing is the 3.5-mile-long chainlink fence that runs down the median strip of Kamehameha, from Salt Lake Boulevard by the stadium to Acacia Road in Pearl City. Obviously it’s meant to keep people from darting across the busy highway away from intersections, but it looks so grim and third world, and has such long gaps in its run, a line of pit bulls chained to stakes in the media strip would probably be more effective and attractive. But that’s cruel. So, how about a nice hedge instead?
