Two Days Only – Strappy Days Ahead
You thought you had a handle on it. You looked great in your cute, new Umee dress/Cassandra Rull top and Allison Izu skinny jeans and those delicate Zsuzsa B./Kara Maresca necklace or those bold B D’Angelo earrings.
But just minutes away from your big date you realize the perfect look is just out of your clasp – the bottom fell out of your go-with-everything clutch.
Don’t worry. The handbag designers in the Lei Chic Mercedes Benz Pop-Up Boutique can take a load off your shoulders, even at a discount. And since you’re now sweating it, you'll need to cover up with a deal on some local beauty products (below).
You know them for their Haleiwa Boutique stuffed with your favorite local lines. But a few months ago, Kahuku High School classmates Liz Lerner and Kai Cost launched their own self-designed leather bag collection. The supple clutches pop with yummy color combinations in a lauhala-inspired woven foldover or zipper style and a large wallet clutch (right) with nine-plus pockets and two zippers for all your gear.
The Deal: 20 percent off the popular Lauahala Zipper Clutch (left).
Sure, the styles are great. But the stars of Jana Lam ’s handbag line are her prints. The Punahou graduate loves textiles and it shows in her effervescent, hand-screened patterns that she turns into beach bags, slim purses, colorful wallets, and sleek clutches. Even the scraps become quilts or patches for chic children’s clothing. Watch for her new chic leather-style clutch with a strip of signature Jana right down the middle (left).
The Deal: 20 percent off everything including her pillows.
You choose your handbags the way you choose your restaurants – you’re fairly certain until someone else’s suggestion changes your mind. Shannon Peck solves the dilemma by making every tote reversible. Go vibrant with a bold print, then spend some quiet time with the soft microsuede side. Treehouse Designs is currently not carried on Oahu so this is your last chance to grab her signature bags as well as two new designs and an so far unnamed cross-body bag (right) that’s making its debut at our pop-up boutique.
The Deal: 30 percent off her classic Sunday and Peekaboo (left) designs and 20 percent off her three new bags.
Like Cyndi Lauper you always want to see true colors shining through – especially when we’re talking about your make up. Cheryl J. De Presbyteries worked as a makeup artist in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Japan before creating her own line of cosmetics rich in pigment, yet light enough not to clog your pores. Not only that, but Cherbu is non-hypoallergenic, fragrance free, non-comedogenic and is never tested on animals. Oh, and did we mention beautiful?
The Deal: 20 percent off the rich red “Bad Bessie” gloss (to sweeten the pot it tastes like chocolate) and lip pencils plus a free gift with any purchase over $75.
Just days ago, Alice Kim was in the middle of Fashion Week in New York showing off her LashCard at stockist Henri Bendel. She just made it back home to bring her Lash Card to our pop-up boutique. The Parsons School of Design graduate, whose street cred includes Club Monaco and Aeropostale, did extensive research before launching the card designed to keep your mascara messes in check earlier this year. Her Hawaii Kai-based company has already gotten national and local media attention (this media person uses it every day). It may look simple but the effectiveness is amazing.
The Deal: Snag a four pack for $10, that’s half-off the retail price.
The Lei Chic Mercedes Benz Pop Up Boutique is Friday, 4 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Mercedes Benz Honolulu Showroom at 818 Kapiolani Blvd.
