Something New
Wednesday, March 25
You might want to skip lunch to make sure you’re ready for Frolic Hawai‘i’s inaugural food and drink event: Something New. The event features an all-star roster of rising chefs, including Lee Anne Wong (Koko Head Café), Michelle Karr-Ueoka (MW Restaurant), Andrew Le (Pig & the Lady), Chris Kajioka (formerly Vintage Cave), Mark Noguchi (MISSION and Pili Group), Rachel Murai (Pig & the Lady), Will Chen (FreshBox), Ed Morita (Off the Wall Craft) and Lance Kosaka (Top of Waikiki and Skybar). Along with ramen, rice, beef and dessert bars, various drinks will be making their Hawai‘i debut, including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire and Lanikai Brewing Company’s craft beers. Ukulele star Taimane Gardner will also perform.

Art & Flea

More than 60 fashion, art, music and food vendors will be at this month’s 8-bit-themed shopping event in Kaka‘ako. There will also be an eating contest, lip sync contests, DJ sets and an art installation inspired by 8-bit.

Ka‘iulani at Kumu Kahua
March 26-April 26
This dramatic play that originally premiered on Kumu Kahua’s stage in 1987, follows the various stages of Princess Ka‘iulani’s life from a young girl at school in England to a royal during the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy. The play features a Greek/Hawaiian chorus and a Hawaiian chanter.

Hawai‘i’s community leaders come together for a day of sharing innovative thoughts to curious audiences. Hawai‘i Sketch Comedy Festival
