ART

Art & Flea’s Ugly Sweater Party

Thursday, Dec. 20

Remember that tacky sweater your grandmother gave you as a Christmas present? Don’t feel guilty if it’s been collecting dust in your closet. Wear it with pride to Art & Flea’s Ugly Sweater Party, which will have more than 60 vendors of handmade goods, art and music. “The brighter, the better, more decked out, more festive,” organizer Aly Ishikuni recommends. Think: glitter, beads, furry teddy bears and Christmas patterns. For the “most authentic” or “most crafty” sweater, score a gift card from Fresh Café and local goodies. And scarf down holiday treats in the cookie-eating contest afterwards. $3 or $2 with a wacky, tacky holiday sweater, 5 to 10 p.m., 831 Queen St., artandflea.com.

NIGHTLIFE

SuperCW.com presents “The Last Ever!!!”

Friday, Dec. 21

The Mayan calendar predicts the apocalypse on Dec. 21. Have any plans for your final days on earth? Might as well attend nightlife queen Christa Wittmier’s “The Last Ever!!!” party, where you’ll be treated to a fashion show, visual arts and entertainment from electronic music producers The Knocks. The Honolulu’s Nightlife Diaries blogger bids adieu to her blog SuperCW.com, which chronicled Honolulu’s underground nightlife scene for the past eight years. Come celebrate her birthday with fellow earthlings and say goodbye to 2012. “This is kind of a retirement party for my blog and the end of the world,” Wittmier says. “It would be a birthday present to myself if everybody comes and has a really good time.” $20 general admission in advanced or $25 day of show, $30 risers in advanced or $35 risers day of show, 6 p.m. lounge doors, 7 p.m. fashion show, 9 p.m. opener, The Republik, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd., supercw.com/blog.

FUNDRAISER

Music Night for Ryan’s Light

Sunday, Dec. 23

Before his death from cancer in 2011, six-year-old Ryan Wagner loved listening to the soothing sounds of Hawaiian music every night. His parents Joshua and Anita Wagner established the Ryan's Light foundation to raise funds to provide music therapy and ukulele to pediatric oncology children at Tripler Army Medical Center, where their son was treated. Music brought a smile to his face, Anita Wagner says. Listening to music from Henry Kapono, John Cruz, Manoa DNA and Kamuela Kahoano at this $25 per person fundraiser could bring a smile to your face, too (plus, it's for a good cause). $25, 3:30 p.m., Hawaii Yacht Club 1739 Ala Moana Boulevard, 221-0916, ryanslight.org, ryanslight.brownpapertickets.com.
