Contact Exhibition
Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 12
This exhibition of contemporary art explores “the notion of contact as it relates to the Hawaiian Islands.” Artists were told to focus on the period from 1890s to the 1930s, and used early written documentation from people like John Dominis Holt to Native Hawaiian ali‘i as inspiration for their art. The opening reception is on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., but also take a look at the public programming schedule which includes artist talks, films and music.

Youth Grand Slam Competition

South Pacific
Now through April 19
The popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical returns to Diamond Head Theatre this month. Based on James Michener’s book Tales of the South Pacific, the musical is set in the wartime ’40s and is centered on the life, and drama, of Americans stationed in the South Pacific.
