The Hitt List: Cinco de Mayo Fiestas

It seems like every bar and club is having a Cinco de Mayo event tomorrow night.  Well, I looked over the offerings and below are my picks:

Nuuanu Avenue will be closed to traffic for its Cinco de Mayo block party in Chinatown tomorrow night.  Starting at 6 p.m., the streets are going to be decked out with fiesta decorations and salsa dancers will kick off the night. There will be Latin bands on stages, including: Son Caribe Salsa Band, Latin Amigos and Santana Tribute Band. Mexican food will be on-site for purchase from participating restaurants such as El Pelenque, Cha Cha Cha Salsaria and The Puerto Rican.  They will be selling plates from $4 to $12 dollars.  There will also be drink specials all night with $4 coronas, $5 mojitos and $6 margaritas.  Free. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. $3 wristband, if purchasing alcohol.

When the block party ends, head over to the Island’s only Mexican restaurant that allows bar dancing by night, Senor Frogs, for its Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.  A live mariachi band will be on-hand to entertain, with drink specials all night: Jose Cuervo $3 shots, $4 margaritas, $10 margarita pitchers.  Validated parking in Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, 2201 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815.
