Father’s Day Gift with a Hawai‘i Twist

For a Father’s Day gift with a local twist look no further than Kailua label Lola Pilar Hawai‘i’s new Aloha Friday Collection photo prints. This time, instead of arranging blooms into her signature Hawaiian quilt motifs, photographer Kristen Reyno created striking patterns for paper aloha shirts. For the vibrant “Mokulua Sunrise” (above), Reyno drew inspiration from her memories of East O‘ahu’s amber-hued sky. “When I would come home from college during Christmas break, over 16 years ago, I would wake up every morning before the first light, grab my camera and either time-lapse the sunrise or hop in the water to capture the gorgeous light.”
