The Collection sales start strong

If you didn’t check out The Collection in Kakaako when sales opened on Saturday, you’ll have another chance today.
Dozens of people waited overnight for a chance to buy one of the first units in the latest high-rise planned for the upcoming Kakaako neighborhood. Spokeswoman Lynn Kenton said that, by the end of Monday, more than 300 groups will have visited the sales gallery, being served according to the numbers they received on Saturday. Starting this morning, prospective buyers who didn't receive numbers are encouraged to come to the showroom.
The Collection in Kakaako will be located at 600 Ala Moana Boulevard, the former Comp USA site. Current sales are for units in the 43-story highrise, one part of the planned residential community. Kenton said no sales figures are available yet, but “the developer is very pleased with the turnout.”
The tower will have 397 residences, starting in the high $300,000s for one-bedrooms, mid $500,000s for two-bedrooms and mid $700,000s for three-bedroom units. The condos feature modern kitchens with stainless-steel Bosch appliances and appliance garages, along with USB charging ports in the electrical outlets. The bathrooms will have porcelain tile floors, Kohler sinks and toilets and hotel-inspired cabinetry. The master baths also feature custom showers.
The building’s amenities will include a lobby and e-Lounge, entertainment rooms, a lap pool, a community workshop and a “Laundry Mutt,” a dog-washing and play area.
Located on Ala Moana Boulevard near Restaurant Row and Ward, the high-rise will feature city, ocean, Diamond Head and Honolulu Harbor views. It’s also near even more planned development, such as Salt, the proposed retail village from Kamehameha Schools.
The Collection, part of Kamehameha Schools’ Kakaako master plan, will also include a mid-rise building and town homes, which will sold at a later time.
The sales office is located at 680 Ala Moana Boulevard. For more information, visit www.TheCollectionHonolulu.com.
