The Chochin One
You scaled back the desserts and kept a lid on that daily caramel macchiato habit. So far, getting the skinny on trimming down your look has kept you on the straight and narrow.
Just one thing is weighing your style down; that structured purse by a heavyweight designer looks great but toting is a real drag.
A local designer’s new bags will help you see the light.
Donna Miyashiro has been creating hand sewn bags for years. Her latest creation is called Chochin and is named after the traditional Japanese lanterns that served as her inspiration.
The woven cotton totes look like a simple hexagon when flat. But pick up the straps and Miyashiro’s design falls into soft, streamlined folds to your hip. The bags are machine washable, come in a variety of colorful prints or simple neutrals and are reversible.
Giving you a simple way to get that load off your shoulders.
Donna Miyashiro’s Chochin bags are $55 at Fishcake, 307c Kamani Street near Ward Center. Call 808.593.1234 for more information.
