Brunch offers a perfect time to celebrate an occasion and is the only occasion where it’s okay to drink before noon. If you’re looking for a Sunday brunch, you may want to check out these favorites.

Mariposa

The benefit of brunch at Mariposa is that it’s brunch at Ala Moana Center. Once you have your fill of eggs benedict and other items off of its a la carte menu, it’s off to the stores. Sunday Brunch, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Neiman Marcus, Ala Moana Center, 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., 951-3420.

Hoku’s

Hoku’s at the Kahala Hotel & Resort offers a buffet-style brunch with plenty of seafood, a salad bar, breakfast and lunch items and a dessert buffet. $60 adults (includes juices, tea and coffee), $30 children. Sunday Brunch, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Kahala Hotel & Resort, 5000 Kahala Ave., 739-8780.

Orchid’s

“Orchid’s is the gold standard of brunch in Honolulu,” said John Heckathorn in The Six Rules of Brunch. Families also flock to this Hale Aina gold winner for best brunch. It’s buffet style with plenty of eye candy that you can eat. $57 adult, $29 children. Sunday Brunch 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Halekulani, 2199 Kalia Road, 923-2311.

Morimoto Waikiki

Described as a New York-style brunch, don’t expect a quiet afternoon at this trendy hotspot, happening every third Sunday of the month. There’s a deejay to dance to while drinking mimosas and bloody mary’s from the bar. Dishes are served a la carte with some breakfast items and lunch items taken from Morimoto’s regular lunch menu. Reservations suggested. 1775 Ala Moana Blvd., Waikiki. 943-5900.
