Panya Waikiki

Panya turned 13 this month and celebrates with special deals, such as 99-cent red velvet mini cupcakes. Panya’s menu includes a taste of both Asian and Western cuisine. Selections range from specialty cakes to its popular Hokkaido bread ($3.25). “We created a menu of food that we like to eat and recipes we discover while traveling,” says co-owner and founder, Annie Yeung. The Little Oven

A colorful array of desserts, such as the mini pink satin cupcakes ($6.50), lilikoi pavlova ($6.50) and chocolate dobash are a few of the many special creations offered at The Little Oven. The dessert menu always changes, but that’s not the only thing that varies. Cafe Kaila

Cafe Kaila is a perfect reason to wake up at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday. Be prepared to wait in line if you get there a little later, but it’s well worth it. A cozy little place that always smells of freshly brewed coffee, no wonder it’s one of Honolulu’s favorite breakfast spots. The buttermilk pancakes ($6.95) melt in your mouth, the Belgian malted waffles ($6.95) are light and crispy served with butter and syrup, and let’s not forget the list of fresh fruits to choose from.
