Sponsored Edition: Lights, Camera, Fashion.

Fashion and the movies have always gone hand in hand. Admit it – you’ve adopted style cues from more than few A-listers. But while both Hollywood and high fashion have made stopovers in the islands, they rarely visit together.

Until now. This Thursday brings a one-night-only showing of the high-energy, high-fashion, high-definition film experience, Macy’s Passport: Fashion Cinema presented by American Express.

The feature-length film is more than a movie, really. It’s a cinematic experience that brings to life the Macy’s Passport fundraiser events held in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Since 1982, Macy’s Passport has held runway shows featuring the world’s top designers, set to live music by the hottest acts, with Hollywood’s biggest stars in the audience, and sometimes on the catwalk. And, all the proceeds from these star-studded events go toward AIDS/HIV relief.

The annual Macy’s Passport benefit became such a hot ticket that this year, Macy’s filmed the three-day, two-city gala, and has taken the show on the road with screenings across the country.

Want to get a peek at runway looks from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ed Hardy, and see music, dance and theatrics by the Jabbawockeez, PussyCat Dolls, Fall Out Boy and Ne-Yo? Well, there’s only one chance to see it in Honolulu: Thursday, October 23. The film screens at Regal Cinemas Dole Cannery theater, with all proceeds going to Hawai‘i’s own HIV/AIDS charity, the Life Foundation.

With your ticket, you’ll enjoy a pre-show champagne reception, free movie concessions, and an exclusive Macy’s shopping discount.

Finally, the runway comes to the reel world.

Macy’s Passport: Fashion Cinema is Thursday October 23 at 8 p.m. Champagne reception begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25. To purchase, visit www.macys.com/passport or email macyspassport@lifefoundation.org.
