Sponsored Edition: A Green-Tie Affair
Fundraisers have come a long way since you and your teammates sold Zippy’s chili tickets to go to a tournament on Maui.
Get ready for a FUN-draiser you don't want to miss…
Mark your calendar for an event that’s got all the elements of a fun night out with your girlfriends (and boyfriends, too!), and supports a cause you can really get behind.
Tuesday, August 12 at 5:30 p.m. is Green Is the New Black, a fundraiser for local non-profit Kanu Hawai‘ i , organized by Tanna and Bryson Dang, owners of The Wedding Café . Kanu Hawai‘ i’s mission for “island style activism” resonated with café team, who created daily goals to live by, including carrying a reusable tote for shopping, supporting local Mom and Pops shops as much as possible, and saying no to ATM receipts.
The fundraiser is a part of The Wedding Café’s “Divas Doing Good” series of events put on with its cool network of local women. Held at Waterfront at Aloha Tower, the event will have everything from food (imagine quesadilla bar to cupcake station) to fashion shows (featuring Fashionista's Market, Split Obsession, Jessica’s Traveling Boutique, Alison Izu, Alliway, Noelani Designs and Ginger 13 to name a few), prize drawings such as a roundtrip for two on Hawaiian Airlines and a silent auction loaded with the trendiest restaurant and boutique gift certificates. The soundtrack for all of it will be played by a DJ spinning the hottest tunes and live entertainment by Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson.
Tickets are now on sale at both Wedding Café locations (Ward Warehouse and Manoa Marketplace) for $25 each, or buy them at the door for $30 each. Round up your friends and take advantage of the “GO GREEN” special – buy five tickets, get the sixth ticket free. Admission includes pupus, drink specials, live and silent auctions, a fashion show, and swag bags filled with goodies from Hawai‘i’s top boutiques.
It’s one green party you’ll definitely want to join.
