SkinHappy MediSpa celebrates grand opening
Skin and Bare It

You witnessed, or were at least present for, some pretty memorable showdowns yesterday.
Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers (in case you missed it, winner: Ravens). Bar Refaeli vs. a GoDaddy computer nerd (clear winner: computer nerd). Beyonce vs. the Superdome's power grid (okay, technically, the two aren't related, but winner: Beyonce).
Then there's the latest battle in the ongoing war between your skin and those pesky breakouts – and based on how much concealer you piled on before the Super Bowl party, we know how that one ended.
Your next play: head down to SkinHappy MediSpa for a serious time out.
Lash mavens will recognize its location, tucked away in the upstairs loft of Kai Boutique in Kailua, as Kristin Wood's former beauty boutique (you can still visit her Kilohana Square salon). Now, the space, which is run by the same folks at Castle Medical Center's Kenner Dermatology Center, is stocked with high-tech machines and products ready to tackle troubled skin.
Start with a quick huddle with licensed aesthetician Robin Reis. Then, choose one of five facials, like microdermabrasion or a light- or laser-based treatment, tailored to your skin's needs.
Take the Signature Medifacial, for instance, which uses a high-frequency ultrasound (shown right) to infuse skin with vitamins A and C and a slew of antioxidants. Opt for a secondary infusion and your entire face will be covered by a thick mask, channeling electric currents to send those nutrients even deeper. Reis can even apply a special serum over breakouts pre-infusion.
It all sounds very Frankenstein-y, but trust us: 20 minutes later, your skin will feel so plump, vibrant and refreshed, you'll almost be ready for your own half-time show.
Fiery explosions and laser-cut leather not included.
$60-$140 facials, spray tan and waxes also available. Get 20 percent off, including botox and fillers, during SkinHappy MediSpa's grand opening tomorrow, 6-8 p.m. at 319 Hahani St. above Kai Boutique, and 10 percent off through the rest of the month.
