Single-family luxury in a condo

In the heart of metro Honolulu, people are used to living in smaller spaces, usually cookie-cutter condos. The Queen Victoria, however, is meant to be a departure from the norm, despite its location right smack in the middle of the urban jungle.

It’s an impressive living experience from the moment you step into the building: a grand entrance with décor reminiscent of European apartment buildings makes you feel like you’re in a different era. The lobby has a variety of meeting rooms, reading rooms, exercise room, and pool area.

There are only two units per floor—so be prepared for a high maintenance fee—but this means they are as large as most single-family homes. Today we’re looking at unit 802, which is a brand new listing (click here for details).

This unit is quite large, at 1,609 square feet with two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The kitchen is massive, with a lot of counter and storage space; it’s definitely meant for people who frequently cook or bake.

It’s no surprise to see that the living room and bedrooms are also very spacious, but it’s unusual to see a condo unit with a dedicated laundry room—another one of those touches that makes you feel like you’re in a single family-home.

You also get two parking spaces and extra storage within the building. I guess the one thing missing from the single-family home experience is a yard to maintain, but if you’re a condo dweller, that’s probably the one chore you’re trying to avoid.
