Shangri La’s 8×8:Source exhibition brings contemporary artists across Hawai‘i into dialogue with the center’s historic collection and location in Kūpikipikiʻō on the other side of Lēʻahi (Diamond Head). Sparking a generative force to this year’s exhibition, the theme “source” has been interpreted by 16 artists to produce commentaries on topics ranging from sustainability and ancestry to rising and return.

In celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Shangri La is highlighting the work 8×8: Source artists in HONOLULU Magazine’s May issue and online. The work of these incredibly inspiring artists helps us to imagine a more creative, equitable and sustainable vision for our islands in the Pacific.

View the entire 8×8: Source exhibition and learn more about the artists at www.shangrilahawaii.org. Tickets can be purchased to see the exhibition in-person here.
