Service With a Style

Lei ChicRental Ad: “Cozy downtown studio”
Translation: A broom closet with a small window on River Street.

Personal Ad: “Distinguished, free-spirited, entrepreneur”
Translation: He’s as old as your father and is still living with his.

You’re usually a whiz at ad speak. But you just pulled a major fail with the “weathered, vintage” sideboard that looked a-door-able on Craig’s List. It’s now listing on its remaining two dog-chewed, avocado green legs on the curb waiting for bulk pick up.

Don’t just grin and chair it. Get some table-bodied expertise at the new Cathy’s Marketplace Showroom.

Located in a former bank building off of University Avenue, the showroom allows customers to get up close with carefully prescreened pieces from the upscale consignment website Cathysmarketplace.com.

Interior designer Cathy Lee creates inviting vignettes from her eclectic selection of deeply discounted furniture and home accessories. Wander past a koa rocker cut from a single tree, striking sheet metal abstract bird sculptures, vintage typewriters, and even frog-shaped salt-and-pepper shakers carved from water buffalo horn.

The showroom is also a classroom. Scattered throughout the space are style tips on how to recreate Lee’s looks at home. A design center features fabric samples and books for added inspiration. And the room is a studio for Lee’s weekly how-to videos which are featured on  her website and will soon be on television. She plans to offer classes, wine tastings and other events there in the future.

So you're just one stop away from turning your beige-riffic space into va-va-room!

Now that's interior divine..
