Say Aloha to the New Local Hello Kitty Products From ‘Iolani Sportswear

This cat’s got Island fever.

This weekend may not have rained the cats and dogs we were expecting, but we don’t mind. Missing out on downpours and heavy winds is always a plus, especially when a much cuter cat so recently dragged itself into the limelight—again. Say aloha to the new look from a kitty with which you’re probably already well-acquainted: Hello Kitty.

Thanks to a purrfect (sorry, we had to) new collab with ‘Iolani Sportswear, the cat is back, and this time with some sweet local style. The ‘Iolani crew teamed up with Sanrio for a Hawai‘i-themed line of products and we are loving the blend of childhood characters and grown-up aloha print. Plus, this collection goes way beyond clothing: Look for tees, tanks, sturdy canvas tote bags, a makeup bag, plush toys, a men’s shirt, slippers—even a tea cup—in Sanrio stores, or the flagship ‘Iolani on Kona Street.

In total HK fashion, the feline icon herself appears on the pieces dressed to the nines and ready to party-animal it up in the Islands, sporting pretty posies and perfectly on-trend palm patterns, breezy, sleeveless sundresses and, of course, a soft tan. A sunny palette of teal and goldenrod adorn the designs, while everyone’s fave tropical fruit, pineapple, plays a stylish supporting role. We could definitely see ourselves rocking that frond-covered tote, complete with leather straps and a sunkissed Kitty, or the makeup bag emblazoned with a stylized pineapple stamp. Definitely our favorite, though, is the Hello Kitty collab men’s shirt, where a bevy of various tropical leaves and ferns jostle for space, while HK’s mug peeks out from behind the flora.

What can we say? We’re feeling the cat call.
