Acacia Has A Cool New Collab with Gossip Girl Star Evan Mock

Get the scoop on all the hot sellers and the Hawai‘i tie that brought the designers together.

It’s the collab we didn’t know we needed: Maui-based swimwear brand Acacia just teamed up with Gossip Girl star Evan Mock’s streetwear label Sorry In Advance on a killer capsule that offers double the cool factor.

The pairing came about rather organically—Acacia designer Naomi Newirth is a family friend of Mock’s, who happens to be a North Shore native. With his feet planted in both the streetwear and high fashion worlds—Mock is also a top model and skateboarder—it only made sense to tap him for a fresh spin on some of Acacia’s classics.

“It was our first brand collaboration,” explains Newirth. “Being able to play off of another’s creative ideas and see them come to life in the collection was an exciting experience!”

The result is a capsule of women’s, men’s and keiki swimwear and apparel that takes cues from Hawai‘i surf culture, NYC’s high fashion and Mock’s own personal style, influenced by ’90s skate culture. You’ll find saturated green-yellow, orange and lilac hues inspired by Hawai‘i’s evening skies and a retro floral print reminiscent of ’70s alohawear.

Fans of Acacia’s signature mesh styles will want to keep an eye out for new silhouettes and earthy colorways. I’ve heard that the bikini sets featuring crochet overlays and sporty contrast piping are going fast. Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on the beach-to-street pieces, including the high-waist bike shorts, men’s aloha shirt and floaty slip dresses.
