Rove Swimwear launches bohemian chic swim line
World of Wander

Chalk it up to your inner gypsy, but you go through life like you do road trips: sans GPS. Wherever you go, there you are is pretty much your mantra.
Except when it comes to shopping, in which case you've got a track record of knowing exactly what you want and where to get it.
Chart a course for Rove Swimwear, a new, locally designed swim line that's manufactured in Bali and blends high-quality construction and fit with carefree, boho-chic style. Think of it as an exercise in conflict resolution — your yin will love the crochet and macrame details, braided ties and cheeky cuts while your yang is bound to favor the nylon-Lycra-blend fabrics, custom prints and secure double linings.
Designer and Kailua native Alicia Van Bokhoven has this balancing act down pat. (Case in point: the 27-year-old studied fashion via electives while majoring in business at the University of Hawaii.) Though the overall line draws inspiration from a modern-day gypsy traveling to destinations unknown — hence the name Rove — Van Bokhoven made absolutely certain to calculate every detail, cut and embellishment down to the centimeter, from the curve of an underwire cup to the length of a strap's fringe detail.
She also road-tested samples for a year to make sure they were flattering, comfortable and, most importantly, stayed put while doing even the most active of water sports.
Hey, you're not that carefree.
$110-$140 per piece. Rove Swimwear will be available tomorrow, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Fighting Eel Kailua, 629 Kailua Rd., Suite 130, then starting next week at The Bikini Room, 4489 Aku Rd. on Kauai and online, and BeachWahine.com. For more information, visit RoveSwimwear.com.
