Sales began yesterday for the luxurious new Ritz-Carlton Residences on Waikiki beach with the opening of its real-estate showroom. Located at Luxury Row–2100 Kalakaua Avenue at the entrance to Waikiki, the 38-floor, 309-unit building offers everything from studios to three-bedrooms and penthouses. Prices start at $500,000, but don’t expect to land a penthouse for anything less than $15 million.

What kind of amenities can you expect with price tags like these? For one, gorgeous ocean views from many of the units, with panoramic views from upper floors. Those on the mauka side of the building can expect sweeping mountain views. And of course the units will boast luxury appliances, fixtures and finishings.

For those who prefer not to walk the few minutes down to the beach, there will be an infinity pool with ocean views. A separate adult-only spa pool will also be available with a full-service spa.

Having moved to Hawaii from New York City myself, I’m especially excited that Dean & DeLuca, a well-known upscale New York grocery chain, will be setting up shop in the Ritz-Carlton with its amazing spreads, cheeses, and other exotic artisan foods.

Additionally, there will be an acclaimed sushi restaurant and an ocean-view restaurant and bar. When it’s time to work off all that delicious food, you could head to the top-of-the-line fitness center, complete with spa and steam rooms or take a stroll in the lush gardens.

Add in concierge and bell services, valet parking, housekeeping, in-room dining and catering services, and children’s programs and you have pure luxury. (If you end up buying, I would love an invitation!)

The projected opening date is Spring 2016. The showroom will be open from noon to 5 p.m. seven days a week, by appointment only.
