Regain your Pre-Pregnancy Body
Procedure Name: Mommy Makeover
The Patient: Women who have had one or more pregnancies, don’t smoke, are in good health and want to restore their pre-pregnancy proportions.
How It Works: A Mommy Makeover may include a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, liposuction, labiaplasty and facial hyperpigmentation treatment. This compilation of surgeries can tighten and tone the body back to pre-baby proportions (or better). A tummy tuck can repair the separation of abdominal muscles, plus remove extra skin and fat. Liposuction is commonly done in hips or thighs, and breast augmentation or breast lifts can replace lost volume and firmness due to nursing. In addition, the facial treatment can lighten melasma, the dark spots that pregnancy may cause. Patients may choose any or all components, which can be done all at once, or in segments.
Risk Factors: Bleeding and seromas may occur.
Recovery: Recovery time depends on age, health and number of procedures performed. The average patient is back to normal activities within 10 days. Scars must be kept out of sunlight for the first three months. Compression garments must be worn after liposuction.
Maintenance: Varies depending on procedures performed.
Cost: Varies. May start at $15,000 and range up to $30,000.

Restore and Rejuvenate Your Eyes
Procedure Names: BOTOX® Cosmetic and Facial Fillers
The Patient: Primarily men and women in their 30s and older who want to reduce furrows between the brows, wrinkles around the eyes, and puffiness or bags. Treatments can also be used as wrinkle prevention by patients in their 20s.
How They Work: BOTOX® Cosmetic reduces the appearance of moderate frown lines (wrinkles between eyebrows) and crow’s feet. An injection of botulinum toxin paralyzes the muscles, reducing the activity that causes wrinkles. One 10-minute treatment can produce instant results that last up to four months. Facial fillers such as RESTYLANE® and JUVEDERM® are injectables that can reduce the appearance of fatigue by repairing sagging tear troughs, which cause under-eye bags. They can also be used to enhance cheekbones, create fuller lips, and remove lines around the mouth. This treatment takes only about 15 minutes.
Risk Factors: The most frequently reported problems are headaches, pain at the injection site, bleeding and bruising.
Recovery: Patients can usually return to work immediately.
Maintenance: BOTOX® typically lasts three to four months; facial fillers typically last six months to a year.
Cost: BOTOX® starts at $280 and facial fillers start at $600.

Painlessly Remove Unwanted Hair
Procedure Name: Pain-Free, Hair-Free Laser Hair Removal
The Patient: Adults who have unwanted facial and/or body hair and who are not tan or pregnant.
How It Works: Soprano ICE is the most advanced hair removal technology to date and is currently the only laser of its kind in Hawaii. Available exclusively at Honolulu MedSpa, this painless laser emits energy that is absorbed by the hair follicles. The energy is then converted to heat, which disables hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. Because only about 10 to 15 percent of hair follicles are in the active growth phase at any given time, this process is repeated for a total of six treatments.
Risk Factors: Thermal injuries, in the very rare case that they occur, can lead to hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation.
Recovery: Patients can resume their regular activities immediately, but sun exposure should be avoided two weeks prior to the treatment and two weeks post-treatment.
Maintenance: After the initial series of six treatments, patients may need periodic maintenance. These additional treatments are discounted at 20 percent off.
Cost: Treatment runs from $75 to $525, depending on the treatment area.

Eliminate Unwanted Tattoos
Procedure Name: PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal
The Patient: Anyone who wants a tattoo removed or lightened, or has recalcitrant tattoos (tattoos that have been previously treated on other technologies but still have ink remaining).
How It Works: PicoSure, as opposed to traditional tattoo removal systems, uses only a fraction of the heat energy and adds an intense photomechanical impact to shatter ink into tiny sand-like particles that are easily cleared by the body. This allows better clearance of ink in fewer treatments and with greater safety. Even dark, stubborn blue and green inks can now be removed.
Risk Factors: As with most lasers, side effects are rare but could involve thermal injury leading to discoloration.
Recovery: Recovery is very similar to getting a tattoo and generally involves a two-week period of scabbing. Patients should keep the treated area moist with a topical ointment and avoid unprotected sun exposure for two weeks.
Maintenance: No maintenance is required, as patients can be treated until they are completely satisfied with the results. Tattoo removal packages include four treatments with a six-month guarantee. Additional treatments within this six-month period are free.
Cost: $75 per square inch.

Look Five to Ten Years Younger
Procedure Names: PrecisionTx LazerLift & PicoSure FOCUS Lens Array
The Patient: Men and women who want to melt the fat of the double chin and jowls, redefine the jawline and tighten the skin on the face and neck without the risk, recovery, or expense of liposuction and/or a traditional face and neck lift.
How They Work: The PrecisionTx LazerLift works from the inside out by using a tiny micro-cannula to melt and remove the fat of the double chin and jowls. PicoSure FOCUS Lens Array then works from the outside in to lighten surface discoloration and to smooth the texture of the skin and diminish fine lines, wrinkles, pore size and acne scars.
Risk Factors: Temporary side effects from the PrecisionTx LazerLift include some numbness of the treated area, mild bruising, swelling, and the sensation of tightness. Temporary side effects from the PicoSure FOCUS Lens Array include the look and sensation of sunburn, which generally subsides overnight.
Recovery: Patients can return to most normal activities and work in about two days to one week.
Maintenance: Results last five to ten years, but ongoing preventative skin tightening treatments are recommended on a quarterly basis.
Cost: Starts at $5,245.

Smooth and Perfect Your Face Instantly
Procedure Name: Dual Exfoliation Treatment
The Patient: People interested in a natural, results-oriented facial that is gentler than microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
How It Works: A bamboo-powder product is used to buff the skin, removing dead layers. This is followed by light scrubbing with a salicylic acid pad to soften pores. Finally, an all-natural perfecting plant peel yields the same results as 30 percent glycolic acid.
Risk Factors: There are no risk factors involved, but clients with rosacea or sensitive skin should avoid this treatment.
Recovery: Skin glows immediately after treatment; there is no downtime.
Maintenance: A series of four treatments are recommended three or four times per year, with about two weeks between each treatment: dual exfoliation, botanical resurfacing, perfecting plant peel, followed by another dual exfoliation treatment.
Cost: $140 for 60 minutes.

Get Natural-Looking Highlights
Procedure Name: Balayage Highlights and Coloring
The Patient: Anyone looking to change and/or enhance their hair color. Balayage can used on previously highlighted hair to provide an organic, effortless look or on un-highlighted hair to give it an extra pop. A wide range of looks are available, including highlight framing, beachy highlights and more.
How It Works: Hair is first separated into panels. Each panel is separated at the root by cotton and individually covered by a plastic sheet. Highlights are then hand-painted on top of the sectioned panels. The highlights are custom placed, based on the client’s hair growth patterns and how they wear their hair. Unlike traditional highlights, most of the client’s natural hair color remains present, allowing for better grow-out results. Lowlights can also be done in the same way to provide dimension.
Risk Factors: Risk factors are far and few between, but clients should let their stylist know if they have any allergies or if they have had previous reactions to hair color.
Maintenance: Because Balayage yields natural-looking results, most clients can wait twice as long for touch-up services as compared to traditional foil highlighting.
Cost: Starts at $135.
